Title: [SOLVED] AIG Traffic Controller crashing on launch
Post by: RayP on December 26, 2021, 01:23:22 PM
P3D v5.3HF1. AIG AIC is launched via an addon entry. Today it crashes with the following info in Event Viewer. The only change I have made in recent days is to update my AIG Aircraft including multiple airlines for the A330.

Faulting application name: AIGTech - Traffic Controller.exe, version: 0.5.0.19, time stamp: 0xd64b9ed6
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.19041.1387, time stamp: 0x0b9a844a

Report ID: 88c5a00c-1522-4048-942d-7f920b63bb8b

Faulting package-relative application ID:

Hope that helps you identify the problem.

I tried going back to an earlier version but no joy. It still fails with the same error.

For now, I'm disabling the addon entry until the problem is identified.

No logs are generated because the program doesn't get as far as creating one. Don't even see the splash screen. It appears to crash as soon as it's launched.

Despite launching AIG TC just now (and it failing) there is nothing in that folder.  ???

Hi Kaiii3,

Yes, sorry. Just spotted this one. Hopefully more hepful. I ran Verify Setup and although it repaired several textures the TC problem remained.

seems the config file has been corrupted by .NET...

Open: \AppData\Local\AIGTech
Kill all AIGTC directores
Start TC
Add your settings again

Just the one AIG TC folder in there. Deleted it and launched AIG TC. DOS window showed for the update and then the program started and displayed the interface.
::party2::

Great support, thanks Kaiii3.

I do get another .NET error (code 0) that occurs every time the PC boots up. I have tried to identify the cause but it's defeated me. Shall I post details tomorrow in case it is the cause of the TC one?

Possibly a long shot as this is the first time TC has been a problem for me. But if you like solving a mystery.. 😁

According to Microsoft you cannot uninstall .NET on W10, only repair it. I downloaded and ran the repair tool then rebooted. I'm still getting the same error:-

The description for Event ID 0 from source .NET Runtime cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

.NET Runtime version : 2.0.50727.9151 - No debugger found. No registered JIT debugger was specified.

Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.
Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

Any ideas on how to rid myself of this irritating issue? Microsoft Help is useless.  ::mad::

These are my settings. Look okay?

Turning off .NET Framework 3.5 has stopped the error. Is that likely to impact on anything related to AIG?

LATER: ASP3D complained .NET 3.5 wasn't installed so gave me the option to install it. After doing so and rebooting the blasted error is back. I'll ask over at Hi-Fi.
