The topic pretty much says it all.

Is there a way to detect when an updated flight plan contains an replacement livery for an existing aircraft title?

Manually detecting obsolete titles isn't such a big deal because I can use AIFP to compare the aircraft titles in the existing BGL files with those the new flight plan.

The problem is when an aircraft title stays the same, but the livery/repaint changes.

Unfortunately, it isn't practical when doing manual installs to delete all repaints contained in the old flight plan and reinstall all for the new.  Too often, even adding a repaint to aircraft.cfg becomes a manual task because the Install option fails.

I've had it happen and was left with the old repaint, because AIG found the title and said "all good" and didn't update the repaint.

Thanks,
Ernie

Not yet, but it's a good point. Especially as we allreday have this option for OCI installation.
We are eyeing to get the manual installation closer to the OCI procedure anyway.
So this might be something realizeable (mostlikely)
